Call for Poster Session Proposals

We look forward to hosting faculty, staff, students, trustees, and administrators at the 2024 ACCJC Partners in Excellence Conference. This year, our theme explores how accreditation can support our institutions as they Foster Outcomes, Improvements, and Innovations in Equitable Student Success.

ACCJC is seeking proposals for the poster session at the 2024 Partners in Excellence Conference! This is an opportunity for you and your college to showcase your accomplishments as you are weaving your way toward educational excellence and equitable student success. Thinking of the ACCJC membership as a “learning community,” you can play a vital part in raising the collective level of professional practice on behalf of 1.5 million students.

The poster session will take place during the opening reception, sponsored by our Platinum Sponsor, the Lumina Foundation. Join us to showcase high-impact practices and outcomes throughout ACCJC membership and engage in conversation and networking.

Who Can Participate?

Institutions accredited by ACCJC, other regional accreditors, or established higher education organizations. Posters should highlight research, collaborative planning, initiatives, or innovations that have potential or have shown promising results in advancing equitable outcomes and increasing student success.

Poster Session Format

The main poster session event will take place during the Opening Reception on Thursday night. It will be an opportunity to showcase innovative practices throughout ACCJC membership and provide time for conversation and networking. (Setup will take place on Thursday morning so attendees can browse. You are welcome to engage throughout Thursday or attend other conference events as you like.) Participants are encouraged to feature high impact practices and outcomes at their institutions that have assisted in mission fulfillment, improved equitable student success, and/or increased institutional effectiveness.

Each poster presentation participant will be provided an easel and space to converse with conference attendees (approximately 6ft of space total). The room cannot accommodate visual presentations that do not fit on a standard easel.

Criteria for Poster Session Acceptance

All poster session proposals will be reviewed by the conference planning committee. It is our hope to accept all proposals received. However, space at the hotel is limited. In the event that we receive more proposals than space allows, the following criteria will be applied to evaluate and select poster presentations:

  • Clarity of purposes, innovative dimensions, appeal to participants
  • Transferability to other institutions
  • Relevance to the conference theme

Applicants should be from institutions that hold accreditation by ACCJC or, in limited numbers, by other regional accreditors, or represent an established higher education organization. Proposals that primarily promote a product or service available for purchase will be directed to the conference sponsorship opportunities.

Poster Session Participants’ Responsibilities

  • All poster session participants are responsible for registering in advance for the conference, paying the registration fee, and covering the cost of their own travel, lodging, and ancillary expenses.
  • Poster session participants agree to be available to engage during the Opening Reception on Thursday evening. (Setup will take place on Thursday morning so attendees can browse. You are welcome to engage throughout Thursday or attend other conference events as you like.)
  • The deadline to submit your proposal is March 22, 2024. If your proposal is accepted, you will be notified by March 22, 2024. If you would like to make electronic materials or links to information available on the conference website, the deadline to submit that information is April 25, 2024. Please note that ACCJC cannot reimburse presenters for any materials they provide at the conference.
